The next afternoon, Bellamy dropped Fraser off at the airport.
"You better call me every single day, no excuses," she said, leaning her head on his shoulder like it was a given.
Fraser chuckled, pinching her chin gently. "Funny... I used to fly back and forth all the time, and not once did you ever show up to see me off. Let alone demand a daily call."
"That was then, not now," Bellamy said, brushing his hand away, her voice half-playful, half-serious. "Back then, you were just my investor. We had a pretty simple deal-money, resources, and, you know, the occasional roll in the sheets. Apart from that, we mostly argued. So really, why bother calling? What, scream at each other through time zones? Now you're my fiancé, I've got every right to check in on you."
Her words sent waves through Fraser's heart-sweet one second, a little bitter the next.
Without caring about the people passing by, he cupped her cheek, pulled her in by the back of her head, and kissed her deeply.
