My shoulder still ached from where the blade had pierced me, though it had been cleaned and was bandaged by Lucien while we were in the forest and was rebandaged again by the healers of the Nightshade, they said that it will mend on its own and probably it would take for weeks to months.
I was pulling on my cloak when Kathleen knocked softly on my door. Her face was pale when she entered, hands clutching a sealed envelope stamped with the Higher Council’s crest.
“Your face is pale. What is it again?” I asked while leaning on the chair.
“Big news. See it for yourself.” She said as she handed me the envelope.
I stared at it for too long before I took it. I thought that this would be another kind of gathering between the councils, especially that I received tons of gathering before and I didn’t know how many gathering I have accepted just so Faye won’t use that advantage to create rumors about me, about not attending to any gathering.
