Chapter 135
The door was softly knocked, turning around, to see Eliza leaning at the door, watching him quietly. She had heard a part of the conversation before she left, Xander's actions were too oppressive, why did he have to drive Evan away, acting like a tyrant?
"Are you still up?"
Xander turned around and asked softly.
"I haven't had dinner yet. Are you going to eat or not?"
Eliza's stomach had been growling for a while. She had been waiting for him, but he was just standing here looking at the scenery. He looked at the same few lights every day, what was so pleasing about it?
Xander laughed, took her hand, and walked out. Eliza walked a few steps, and could not help but try to lecture him.
"Why harbour resentment? It's better to forgive and forget."
"There is a saying, 'If you don't root out weeds, they will grow back in the spring breezes.'"
Xander retorted, although it had a bit of teasing, it was also full of ruthlessness.
"Are you a bandit? You're talking about eradicating roots!"
