Chapter 24

After they got out of the car, Luke took Rosalie to a room with no windows on all sides of its walls. He took away all of her belongings. Then, he locked the door and said, "Be good and wait here for a couple of hours. I'll get your passport. Then, we can leave this place together and go wherever we want." Without waiting to hear Rosalie's response, Luke walked off right away. As Rosalie listened to his receding footsteps, she clenched her fists tightly. Then, she pinched herself several times and slowly calmed down. Crouching down on the floor, Rosalie tried to recall all of the information she had so far in an attempt to look for a way to escape. Just as she was busy sorting through her thoughts, Rosalie picked up on another set of footsteps. They were the sound of heels clacking on the floor, so it was not Luke.
