Hank had never felt this frustrated in his life. Beside him, Scott got the silencing talisman he wanted after transferring the money. He put two and two together when he saw the look on Hank's face and recalled Hank's bet with Shannon.
"Hank, you ran out of water halfway through your shower and couldn't get anyone to hear your calls for help, right? That's why you came out—"
Hank clamped a hand over Scott's mouth, effectively cutting him off. "Shut up!"
Shannon looked at Hank matter-of-factly and repeated, "We had a bet. I won."
Hank looked dejected. He hated to admit it, but he'd lost. Shannon didn't waste any more time on him. She stood up and said, "Don't let me hear you say a word for the next week."
She paused and added, "I'm sure a son of the Jensen family won't have any problem keeping such a simple promise."
Well, it didn't matter even if he couldn't stick to his word. She would make him stick to it.
Hank's expression darkened at her words, but he still answered grumpily
