Xavier sat up straight, completely still.
"What do you mean? Do you want me to get up and walk around to prove I'm not lying to you?"
She quickly shook her head. His leg injury wasn't just a sore spot for her—it was his too. When she suspected him of lying, she wasn't talking about his injuries. She meant the part about wanting to separate.
"W-What do you want for lunch? I'll go buy some groceries and cook something."
Now that Timothy was gone, no one brought lunch for them anymore. Rather than going out for food every time, Lily figured it'd be easier to buy ingredients and cook on her own.
"Anything's fine," Xavier replied.
She brought him back to the room, prepared some fruit for him, and then headed to the nearby supermarket.
