Lily remained composed as streaks of neon light flickered through the window, illuminating the unmistakable indifference in her eyes.
The cab stopped at the entrance of her residential complex. She scanned the code to pay and got out.
She had just reached the entrance of her building when a figure suddenly darted out and blocked her path.
It was Hazel.
"Lily, did you tell Hayden not to give me money? It's bad enough that you're so cruel, but now you want Hayden to end up just like you, ignoring your parents and getting shamed behind your backs?"
She gripped Lily's arm tightly, her nails digging into the flesh. Lily winced in pain. She tried to shake her off but only ended up hurting more.
"We can give you a fixed allowance, but anything more is out of the question!"
Hazel was furious. "Why not? 100 thousand dollars isn't difficult for Hayden, and it's even easier for you! You're just heartless!
