"Who are you calling a child?" Hayden slammed the bottle down and stood up.
The bottle tipped over with a clang, spilling half its contents onto the floor.
"Look at that—you're reckless and careless. If you're not a child, then what are you?" Maryanne grabbed the bottle and righted it.
She slid off the couch and looked at the now-agitated Hayden, then sighed. "Fine, I'll just order takeout."
"Order for me too," Hayden muttered as he bent down to pick up the bottles. "But Lily said she's almost here."
"Then I'll wait for her to cook." Maryanne sat back down. "Tell her to make pasta for two—we'll each get one."
