Amanda's POV
When I pushed the door to the room open, I froze at the scene before me. Vivian was passed out in a corner, two bodyguards restrained Alia, and Leona was sitting on the couch, safe and sound.
I took in everything, shocked. I'd just been gone for a couple of minutes. What the heck had happened in this room?
I tossed Vivian's boots onto the floor and ran to check on her. "Vivian, Vivian! What's going on? Wake up!"
Someone splashed a glass of iced water on Vivian's face. Before I could react, an empty glass was thrust into my hands.
I looked up in shock to meet Elara's mirthful gaze. She tilted her head and said in fake surprise, "Oh, god, Amanda! You're way too crass! You can't just splash water on Vivian's face like that!"
"Fuck! You have a death wish, Amanda?" I heard Vivian scream in disbelief.
My breath caught in my throat.
Elara was truly evil. This was her warning to me.
"I-I'm sorry, Vivian. I was overcome with anxiety," I apologized stiffly.
