I pulled into the parking lot of Groove and Booze. The neon sign flickered above the entrance, casting a dull glow over the row of bikes and cars lined up outside. Even from here, I could hear the pounding bass from inside, the muffled roar of voices blending with the music.
Honestly, I hated this place. It was loud and messy, packed with drunk idiots looking for a fight and hormone-driven teenagers pretending they belonged. Crowds weren’t my thing. The chaos, the suffocating energy, it all grated on my nerves.
I made my way straight to the VIP lounge, a dark, secluded area where Kazeem and the supposed witness were already waiting.
As I entered, they both stood. I gave Kazeem a nod before turning to the man in front of me. He looked frail—gray-haired, sunken eyes, thin fingers twitching anxiously.
“You already know why you’re here,” I said, wasting no time.
“Y-yes,” he stammered, fidgeting with his hands. He was terrified. Good! Because I wasn’t in the mood for a dog
