Chapter 2508
When had Claire left? Or had someone taken her?
"I've got no clue," Perseus muttered, scanning the shoreline with a confused look.
"The white barrier is gone too," Lavender added quietly.
Perseus glanced up, confirming her observation. The ocean stretched out, calm and endless. No trace of the barrier remained. It was as if everything that had happened was just a dream.
"That's enough. We can't worry about that now," Perseus said, snapping out of it. "Let's head back. Ramona's weak and needs rest."
Lavender said nothing, her lips pursed as she fought down a wave of frustration. Through the rearview mirror, she saw how tightly Perseus held Ramona.
Apparently, she had just saved her rival in love.
But Perseus wasn't concerned with Lavender's emotions. He kept glancing back toward the shore, his brow furrowed.
Where had Claire gone? Why hadn't Egbert shown up? Something monumental had occurred tonight, and Egbert—who was supposed to be by Claire's side—was nowhere to be found.
