Chapter 134
A faint smile slowly surfaced on Ella Nielsen’s face.
But with that scar, the smile just looked more disturbing.
She stepped closer to her. “You said if I lured them here and handed them over, you’d give me whatever I wanted.”
Fiona shot her a look full of disgust, inching away. “What? You want money?”
Ella shook her head. “I don’t want money. I want you to bring him back to me.”
“…Excuse me?”
Fiona let out a short laugh, like she’d just heard the most ridiculous joke ever.
The contempt in her eyes deepened—mocking, scornful, even a little pitiful. “He’s dead, remember? Turned into bones in this freezing pond because of you. And you still have the nerve to ask for him back?”
Ella’s face had turned the color of ashes, lifeless.
Her grip tightened around the knife hidden inside her bag, eyes bloodshot, lips trembling as she whispered, “It wasn’t me… it wasn’t…”
“What do you mean it wasn’t? Forgot already? Need me to jog your memory?”
Fiona reached out and brushed the scar on Ella’s face.
