Dr. Martin called me earlier and told me what had happened at the hospital yesterday.
As soon as I heard it, I drove straight to Olivia’s house to check on her. The moment I arrived, I rang the doorbell.
A few seconds later, the door opened.
Hannah stood there.
She looked adorable in her outfit today. She was wearing a yellow dress with a daisy pattern, and her hair was tied into two small ponytails. It looked like she and Olivia were about to go somewhere.
“Uncle Noah,” she greeted me.
I looked down at my daughter, a softness settling in my chest.
“Hannah,” I said gently.
She frowned slightly as she studied my face.
“Uncle Noah, your voice sounds really hoarse. Do you have a cold?”
Before I could answer, she leaned closer and sniffed the air. A second later, she covered her nose.
“Uncle… have you been drinking?”
“Oh… yeah. Sorry.” I felt a little flustered.
