"Oh, really?" Emma raised her brows in surprise. Why did she always seem to run into Michael? And always when she was in some kind of trouble. Still, since Michael had already explained, she didn't press him further.
A gust of wind swept through.
Her bangs were blown up, revealing a pale forehead with a small patch of red—it looked pretty harsh against her fair skin.
"You're hurt. You said you were fine, but look—it's already scraped."
"Ah!" Emma reached up and touched the spot on her forehead.
"Hiss—" She winced from the sting.
"Come on, I'm taking you to the hospital."
"No need, I probably just bumped into the steering wheel earlier. It's just a little scratch, really."
"Nope, we're going," Michael cut her off, already steering her toward the car.
"Seriously, Michael, I still have to—"
He didn't wait for her to finish. The car started up and headed for the hospital.
"I already called the insurance. They're sending someone to deal with it," Michael said after a while, glancing her way
