CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY EIGHT – PETTY BICKERING
As they continued, the list grew longer and longer. Cousins, second cousins, great-aunts and uncles – it seemed the Harrison family tree was more extensive than Rebecca had realized.
"What about the Petersons?" their mother, Catherine, called from the living room where she was eavesdropping.
Rebecca frowned. "Who are the Petersons?"
"You remember the Petersons, dear," Catherine said, entering the kitchen. "They lived next door when you were in high school. Lovely people."
"Mom, I barely knew them," Rebecca protested. "I can't invite people I don't even remember to my wedding."
Catherine's face fell. "But they've known you since you were little. They'd be so hurt if they weren't invited."
Nancy, sensing an argument brewing, intervened. "How about we put them on a maybe list for now? We need to see how many people we can actually accommodate."
Rebecca nodded gratefully at her sister. "Good idea, Nance."
