She stared for a while—yep, same old nose, same old eyes.
Anna felt bored again and glanced over at Julian, who was deeply into his book. Curious, she leaned over to take a look—instantly regretting it. The whole page was squirming with French words. How did he even manage to read this stuff?
"Hey, don't you think this is getting a bit dull? Staying at home all day, aren't you bored?" After spending so much time with Julian and realizing he wasn't all that scary, Anna had become braver. That cheeky streak of hers started slipping out more often.
Julian caught the hint behind her words, but he stayed glued to the page, ignoring her.
Seeing he wasn't biting, Anna didn't give up. "Young people should get out more, you know? Smell some flowers, feel the sea breeze... If nature's not your thing, we could even hit up a bar..."
Julian finally looked up.
Got him.
Only places like that could get a guy's attention, apparently. Anna wasn't thrilled by the thought, but she had to admit it worked.
