Chapter 1088: Hands-On
However, Callie couldn't catch a taxi.
The upscale club was remote and secluded, and most people who went in and out had their own cars for transportation. Ride-hailing services rarely came this way. She stood there for a while, contemplating whether to ask Mollie to pick her up, when a car parked steadily in front of her.
The car window rolled down, revealing Anthony.
"Mr. Oconnor instructed me to take you back," he said.
Callie frowned. "What about him?"
"Dragon City is on fire tonight, and major interests need to be negotiated. Mr. Oconnor will be very busy."
As if sensing her concerns, Anthony continued, "It would take Mollie a long time to get here as well. Don't trouble her. Please trust me."
After weighing her options, Callie finally got into the car. It was getting late, and she was afraid Grape would cry if she didn't see her.
During the ride, Anthony drove in silence. Callie felt restless, remembering what Jaquan had said. "Anthony, do you think Joaquin will be okay?"
