Chapter 4108
Serenity looked at her bump and touched it. She sighed. “I haven’t been able to go anywhere after getting pregnant.
“Okay. I’ll listen to you. I’ll have Zachary go over to record videos for me.”
Serenity compromised. She did not want to worry her sister.
She stopped insisting on heading to Jensburg to congratulate Liberty.
“Sleep, Seren. Duncan’s calling me.”
Liberty sent another voice message, saying, “Don’t reply to my message. I’ll continue fighting with this bed after talking to Duncan.”
Serenity replied with a thumbs-up emoji and stopped sending messages.
“Who are you talking to this late instead of sleeping?”
A gentle voice was heard.
Zachary was behind Serenity, draping a jacket over her shoulders.
“It’s chilly at dawn, and you’re not wearing a jacket. What if you catch a cold?” Zachary scolded softly.
Serenity pulled the jacket closer and said, “My pajamas are thick, and it isn’t cold in the room. My sister has moved into Fisher Manor. She said she couldn’t sleep. It could be due to the environment or some other reasons.
“I received her message when I woke up to use the bathroom and drank some water, so I chatted with her through voice messages.
“Did I wake you because I was too loud?”
Serenity turned to look at her husband.
Zachary led her to the bed. He replied, “No. I’m just used to touching your side of the bed from time to time. I woke up because I couldn’t feel you.”
In truth, he was nervous because Serenity’s bump was getting bigger. He was constantly anxious that she might go into labor any moment, even though her due date was still far away.
Zachary had heard some people going into premature labor. He was worried that it might happen to her.
Therefore, he became an even lighter sleeper and would wake up as soon as Serenity was not beside him.
Sometimes, he would wake up at night and stare at her baby bump quietly, caressing it and imagining what the baby would look like.
Would their baby look like him or Serenity?
Zachary hoped their baby would inherit the best features from them both.
“Maybe Liberty isn’t used to the new environment or has too much on her mind. She’s under a lot of pressure. After all, she’ll be shouldering the responsibility of an entire family. Although Fisher Enterprise has declined, it’s still a huge company.
“While Liberty had worked in a megacorporation before and is running a business, she still lacks experience managing a huge company.
“Besides, she definitely has to produce results after taking over as matriarch and let her family members have a taste of the benefits she could bring them. That way, she can convince them and slowly gain a foothold.
“Honestly, if it were me, I’d need quite some time to establish a foundation. Even I’ll feel stressed, let alone Liberty.
“You don’t have to be worried about her, though. The innate talent she has as the eldest daughter of the Fisher family will gradually awaken. I believe she’ll do well as the matriarch.
“You can send her a message to encourage her.
“No matter what, there’s still Aunt Audrey. She won’t leave Liberty helpless. It was supposed to be her responsibility in the first place. I think Aunt Audrey will head over soon to help Liberty for some time.”
Patrick used to be Tiara’s assistant. He could share many insights with Audrey and tell her how to handle certain matters. That knowledge would naturally be passed on to Liberty.
There was no need to worry.
