Mason remembered this place. It was during Suzanne's birthday two years ago. She had worn a pale blue dress that day, a light touch of makeup, looking particularly graceful and charming under the soft lighting.
She had ordered a dessert called a soufflé, saying it was her favourite. At that time, Mason had sneered, thinking it far too sweet and rich in taste.
But now… The car slowly rolled to a stop outside the restaurant.
From within the car, Mason stared at the familiar carved wooden door. As if possessed, he stepped out of his car and entered the restaurant.
There weren't many people inside the restaurant. The lighting was still as soft as it was back then. He took the seat by the window, where Suzanne had sat.
The waiter handed him a menu. Mason didn't even glance at it. "A soufflé, please."
"Yes, sir. Please wait a moment."
The wait wasn't long, but it felt unbearable. Mason stared at the passerby on the street outside, but his mind was a mess.
