Upon hearing that, Spencer felt as if his heart had been stabbed. He faltered, his legs buckling beneath the weight of her judgment, while the color drained from his face until it was nothing but a white, bloodless mask.
Sunny acted as if she hadn't seen his reeling state. She merely gave him a curt, formal nod and said, "I'll be taking my leave if you have nothing else to say, Mr. Price. I still have many details to finalize for the exhibition setup, after all."
Having said her piece, Sunny turned on her heel, intending to leave.
"S-Suzie!" Spencer shouted, his voice cracking from desperation, like a drowning man grasping for rescue.
"I-I'm so sorry, Suzie! I have finally realized that I'm at fault here. I'll do anything to make it right as long as you give me a chance, Suzie!"
