Leona’s POV
When I stepped into the school hallway that morning, I braced myself out of habit.
Whispers. Pointing. The familiar tightening in my chest.
None of it came.
The corridor buzzed the way it always did—lockers slamming, sneakers squeaking against polished floors, someone laughing too loudly at the far end—but no one stopped to stare. No one lowered their voice when I passed. No eyes followed me like knives.
I slowed my steps without realizing it, my shoulders gradually relaxing. Whatever storm I had been expecting simply wasn’t there. It was as if nobody remind what happend in X bar at last night.

The gym filled quickly. Skates clattered against the floor as players gathered, tension and anticipation rolling through the room like static.
