Grinding her teeth, Yasmin gave in and apologized to Roxanne, "I'm sorry!"
Roxanne smiled. "Well, I don't hear any sincerity. Why are you apologizing? Be specific. You know, I could yell loud enough to bring Mason running."
Yasmin broke down and screamed through the phone, "I'm sorry! I shouldn't have bad-mouthed you in front of Mason! I won't do it again! Roxanne, please let it go this time!"
That satisfied Roxanne. Her only complaint was that Yasmin had screamed so loud it nearly shattered her eardrums. Good thing she was holding the phone far away—just far enough to make sure Mason could hear it.
Roxanne cast a smug glance at Mason's darkened expression, then cheerfully said to Yasmin, "Alright. You're forgiven."
