Dashiell barely glanced at her.
The waitress pouted, glancing down at the scrap of paper clutched in her hand.
On it, she had scribbled her phone number, hoping to catch Dashiell’s eye.
But it was obvious that he wasn’t interested.
With a resigned sigh, she slipped the paper beneath Dashiell’s cup, hoping that perhaps he would call her later.
Then, with a final disappointed glance, she turned and walked away.
Elodie watched as Dashiell effortlessly deflected the flirtatious advances of the waitress.
She said nothing.
Dashiell slid his phone across the table. ‘This is why I wanted to meet.’
Elodie’s heart skipped a beat.
The screen displayed three photos.
The first was a shot of Sebastian exiting Ari’s office building, the old man’s gaunt figure dwarfed by the sleek glass facade.
He was flanked by a younger man, whom Elodie instantly recognised as Ari’s ever-present assistant, Theo.
