In the end, Lisa chose loyalty over temptation. Despite being dazzled by Tristan, she dutifully sided with Talia.
She walked over, handed Talia a glass of water, and gently patted her back to help her catch her breath. "Dr. Ainsworth, why are you eating so fast? The blood drive is not until tomorrow."
Talia was still coughing, too choked up to speak. She waved her hand weakly. "I'm fine… The food is a little spicy."
"Have some soup." Tristan placed a thermal container in front of her. "It's chicken soup. Try it. It's good for replenishing energy."
"You bought this?"

"I made it myself," Tristan replied calmly. "Take your time. I'm going to speak with Dr. Preston. I'll come back later to pick up the container."
He smiled, easy and composed—just like the way he left.
Talia was left behind, feeling disoriented and chewing her food in silence.
