THIRD PERSON’S POV
Alpha Draven returned to his pack like a shadow crawling over the land. No fanfare. No thunderous command. Just silence.
And it was that silence that made the pack tremble.
Everyone had heard what happened at the royal assembly. How Dominic’s Luna had forced him to bow his head, how his words had been sliced apart and left bleeding in front of every Alpha and half the royals. No one dared mention it aloud, but the whispers were there—in the kitchens, in the guard posts, in the training yards.
They expected him to explode. To tear the halls apart, to lash out at the nearest fool unlucky enough to catch his eye. But he didn’t.
At breakfast, when the omelette was oversalted, he set down his fork, lifted his cup, and drank as though nothing had happened. The servant girl nearly fainted from the strain of waiting for punishment that never came.
