DOMINIC'S POV
Once I calmed Evelyn down and saw her safely off the dance floor, the ballroom lights finally flickered back to life. The sudden brightness illuminated a scene of chaos—dozens of shaken faces, scattered chairs, half-finished meals, and murmurs spreading like wildfire.
The atmosphere was thick with unease.
"Are you feeling okay now?" I asked, checking to see if she was truly all right.
"I am, now that you're here with me," she said with a smile, keeping a firm hold on me. I wanted to check on others too, but Evelyn needed me right now.
Many of the Lunas were pale and trembling, clutching their mates. Others glanced anxiously around, as if fearing another blackout.
I strode to the center of the room and joined the other Alphas as we tried to take control of the situation. I raised my voice, confident and calm. "Please remain composed. We suspect it was a minor technical issue. You're all safe. Everything is under control now."
Even as I said the words, I didn't believe them
