Elaine softened her tone, trying to calm him down. "Come on, she's being so warm and welcoming, just stay the night and make her happy."
"Fine, not like it's peaceful at home anyway," Oliver said with a smirk, sounding like he was getting back at someone. He threw her a reminder too, "You better be careful when you're home. Might find the old perv laying a trap for you with others."
Elaine gritted her teeth. She knew his "concern" wasn't exactly out of kindness. "Yeah, I'll watch out. Thanks for the heads-up," she said sharply.
Still, he wasn't totally wrong. Her master was always the optimistic type, never liked picking sides. If helping Marcus dig a hole served his interest, he just might.
Elaine raised an eyebrow and asked, pretending to care, "You heading home by yourself tomorrow?"
Oliver smirked, figuring she was just trying to get him to owe her. He raised a small request, "Drop my bike off, will you?"
"Sorry, won't fit in my car. You can call a ride," she replied without a hint
