"There's no bus around here," Elaine said directly.
Tyler had already scoped the area. He gestured and replied, "There's one just past that intersection. It's like a ten-minute walk."
Elaine knew there was a bus stop there. But to her, it felt unnecessary.
She usually dropped Tyler off close to the school to avoid any extra trouble. That arrangement had been going fine, so what was the issue now?
"It's already rushed in the mornings," she explained patiently. "Why make it more complicated for yourself?"
"I don't mind," Tyler responded, holding his ground. "I've gotten used to waking up early."
"Plus, it's a good bit of exercise," he added.
Seeing how firm he was, Elaine decided not to press. "Alright, starting tomorrow, you can take the bus."
Honestly, that might even help ease Marcus's concerns eventually. He hadn't exactly been thrilled about Tyler coming back with her all the time.
