Chapter 7

Fiona finally couldn't hold it in anymore. She took a sharp breath and said, "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom." Trying to run, huh? Elaine flashed a smile and turned to Marcus. "Excuse me too, I need the ladies' room." Fiona had just walked halfway when she noticed Elaine was trailing her. Luckily, the restroom was empty. Fiona didn't bother putting on a show—she just turned and pointed at her. "Who the hell are you?" With arms folded and looking every bit the high-society type, Elaine raised an eyebrow. "I'm the wife of the Orion Axis Group's president. Do I really need to introduce myself?" "We met abroad years ago," she added casually. "Liar!" Fiona hissed. "You've never even been overseas." Elaine gave a short, mocking laugh. "And who told you that?" Fiona went silent. Elaine leaned in slightly, voice soft but sharp. "Was it Diana?" "Wouldn't it have made more sense to ask me directly?" Fiona approached Diana for a reason. The Miles Group was miles ahead of Valtros. If she could get close to Diana, it'd open all kinds of doors. It was only later she found out Diana even knew Marcus. With someone like that pulling strings, Fiona wasn't about to miss the chance. She kissed up, worked hard just to get this chance—and finally, she met the legendary Sixth Master of the Sinclair family. Only now, this woman had ruined everything. So what if she's Mrs. Sinclair now? It's just a matter of time. There's no love between them anyway—at least that's what Diana said. Fiona had grown up with Marcus. That stuff you don't just make up. "Don't be so smug, Audrey," Fiona snapped, barely holding back her temper. "It won't be long before I take your place as Mrs. Sinclair!" Elaine let out a sigh and shook her head. "Where do you get that kind of confidence?" "Has Marcus ever said he'd marry you?" She kept her tone calm like she was analyzing a case. "And besides, you're not the only one eyeing him." Fiona's face twisted with rage. That last part clearly hit a nerve. "Audrey!" she screamed, and suddenly lunged at Elaine. "Oh? You planning on throwing hands, Miss Foster?" Elaine smoothly dodged her. Fights between women usually came down to two moves: hair-pulling or shoe-throwing. Neither was Elaine's style. Fiona was completely out of control now, going straight for Elaine's hair. What made it more hilarious was—Diana actually joined her. Two against one? Elaine didn't even flinch. Still, before things got physical, she glanced around and asked casually, "This restroom doesn't have cameras, right?" Barely a beat later, both women came at her. Elaine kicked one aside and grabbed the other by the neck, slamming her head into the sink before turning on the tap. "Cool yourself off, girl." After giving them a good rinse and clearing their heads, Elaine clapped her hands, satisfied, and walked out. Though, her sleeve was drenched in the process. She strutted back to the table where only Marcus was left, flipping her hair like she was on a runway. There was bounce in her step—you could tell she felt great. She threw out the question on purpose. "Where's Diana?" "She went to the restroom too?" Marcus's eyes zeroed in on her dripping sleeve. Elaine casually pulled a tissue, dabbed off the water, then gave him a bright, innocent smile. But before things could settle, a familiar, irritated voice rang out from behind her. "Audrey!"
