Caitlyn’s POV
The battle had ended, but the tension in the air remained thick as the Forsaken warriors stepped aside, allowing us to move forward. My breath was steady, but inside, my mind raced. These weren’t mindless killers. They were something else—organized, disciplined, and ancient.
Kane walked beside me, his expression unreadable. Jane kept her hand near her blade, her eyes flicking between the figures that watched us from the shadows. They didn’t attack, but they didn’t welcome us either. The silence was unnatural, like the whole world was holding its breath.
Then we reached the throne room.
The chamber was massive, carved from obsidian stone, its walls lined with glowing symbols that pulsed like a heartbeat. The air was thick with something old, something powerful. At the far end, upon a throne of blackened bone, sat the Forsaken King.
He was unlike any werewolf I had ever seen.
His form was tall and imposing, his silver hair streaked with black, his golden eyes
