Tessa’s POV I couldn’t sleep. My mind was too clouded with thoughts of my father and Penny. I spent most of the evening with Esme, Patty, and Claira, training my powers. I was surprisingly good at it too. I was a bit nervous to practice with my abilities after almost burning down the vampire village in the mountains with Anna, but it was easier to practice with witches who actually knew what they were doing, versus a vampire. Esme said she was going to try and connect with those coven leaders and make sure they still have their crystals. If any of them is missing a crystal, we know we have a huge issue. How could Penny… or Eevee, even get those crystals if they truly were strong witches? Still, I couldn’t shake the bad feeling bubbling in my chest. Joseph’s phone rang just as I was finally drifting off to sleep. He groaned as he grabbed his phone off the nightstand, but he sat up when he glanced at the screen. I saw the worried look on his face when he saw who was calling.
