Tessa’s POV I stood frozen at the doorway of Joseph’s office. He was on the phone, talking to someone I couldn’t hear. But he was telling them about me. He looked up from his computer suddenly and saw me standing before him. “I’ll call you back, Carter,” he said just as he hung up the phone. “Hi,” he said to me, his lips forming a smile. “I’m sorry for interrupting your phone call,” I said, stepping into his office and shutting the door behind me. “You are never interrupting me, Tessa.” My face flushed at his words and I’m sure my grin looked goofy to him. “Is everything okay?” He asked, staring around my face questionably.
