Chapter 19
Blair grabbed several umbrellas and tried to secure them over the flowers. The wind was fierce, and the ground had become slippery. She stumbled multiple times, getting knocked around as she struggled to anchor them in place.
Finally satisfied with her makeshift shelter, she smiled and headed for cover. Just as she reached the eaves, her vision blurred, and her eyes rolled back as she collapsed to the ground.
When she woke up, she found herself in one of the orphanage's bedrooms.
"You're awake?" A deep, pleasant voice spoke nearby.
Blair turned her head to see Alexander sitting on the couch. Warm sunlight streamed through the window, casting his handsome profile in shifting light and shadow, making his features appear even more defined.
His gaze rested on Blair as he said with a faint smile, "You've been out for a whole day."
Blair remembered what had happened before she fainted and bolted upright. There was obvious worry in her eyes. "Are the flowers okay?"
