An hour later, Avery and Julian had their marriage certificate in hand.
Julian held out a black card. "This is all my savings. If you ever need to spend on anything, just use this. The PIN is your birthday."
"I don't need it," Avery said, shaking her head. "I have my own money."
Julian tucked the card into her hand anyway. "You're my wife now. It's on me to take care of you."
His gaze dipped to her still-flat belly, and a quiet smile tugged at his mouth. "And not just you. I'll take care of our baby, too."
"I didn't marry you for your money," she said, frowning.
