Chapter 25
"Wow, that guy's handsome. Natalie, is he walking toward you?"
Oliver's presence stirred up quite a commotion on campus. His striking looks and sleek car escorting him had instantly turned him into the center of attention. When he finally stopped in front of her, Natalie's whole body trembled.
"Natalie," he called for her with tender familiarity, as though they had never quarreled or broken apart.
Natalie stepped back, her face guarded. "What do you want?"
"Natalie, I've missed you so much. I know I was wrong. Can you, please, forgive me? Look, I brought your favourite lemon bars and cinnamon chai." He showed the contents of his bag like a child showing off a treasure.
She glanced at the bag. These were the little things she used to long for, but he had never once bothered.
The lemon bars were only a few miles away from home, but Oliver was always "too busy". The cinnamon chai only took 10 minutes to make, but he always made an excuse, saying he didn't know how.
