Cassandra waved over the manager. “Check, please.”
“Miss Taylor, Mr. Blackwood already covered the bill,” the manager said with a polite nod and a smile.
Damien gave a casual wave, motioning for him to leave.
“No real gentleman lets a lady pay,” he said with a light chuckle, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Cassandra was speechless. “…”
So… he never planned on letting her pay at all?
Did he bring her out just to celebrate her getting into college?
No way. She shook off that thought. That would be way too narcissistic. Maybe he just didn’t want to eat alone.
