Chapter 27
Richard Johnson nodded. "Yeah, that Damien Taylor."
“You mean that Damien Taylor?” Grace Williams looked stunned.
“Exactly. So if he ever comes over, watch what you say and try not to talk too much,” Richard reminded her.
Grace was clearly a little miffed. “How come someone like Damien Taylor, a big shot, is suddenly coming to our place?”
Richard glanced at Amelia Johnson. “He’s a friend of Amelia’s. She invited him over.”
“Babe, Damien danced the first song with her, then offered to take her home out of politeness. That guy’s all class; there’s no way he’s actually looking to be pals with someone like Amelia.” Grace’s tone dripped with sarcasm — she couldn’t believe someone like Damien would bother with a country girl.
“You just don’t get it,” Richard said firmly. He knew men well enough. A guy won’t go out of his way unless there’s at least a little interest. If he didn’t like her, he would’ve simply called a car for her, right?
Damien Taylor wasn’t someone you could just run into on
