“Amelia, come on, it’s just a big misunderstanding. Don’t let this mess cause tension between our families,” Richard Johnson said, secretly glad he had asked Sabrina to get Emily to bring Amelia back—otherwise, things could've gone real bad.
“Fine, I’m leaving,” Patricia Collins replied, shooting a dismissive look at Sabrina. Clearly, she had nothing more to say to her.
“I’ll walk you out,” Grace Williams followed behind.
Grace gently linked arms with Patricia, her voice low, “I get it, you’re upset. If I were in your shoes, there’s no way I’d accept someone like Sabrina as a daughter-in-law either.”
“That old man is all hung up on that girl’s fortune or whatever—it’s pointless trying to talk him out of it,” Patricia huffed, frustration leaking out of her like steam.
“Honestly, he’s lost it. If she really ends up marrying into your family, there won’t be a day of peace,” Grace sighed with a helpless expression. “Being a stepmom like me is tough. Can’t yell, can’t scold—just gotta suck
