Mina instinctively pushed back, crossing her little arms and glaring at Harold with a fierce expression. "Even if he offended you, he didn’t offend me. Why shouldn’t I hang out with him?"
Harold’s face darkened with an uncharacteristic seriousness for his age. "Huan’s dad is a lunatic, and he’s no better. You’re not allowed to play with him!"
"Hey! Harold, I don’t like what you’re saying!" Mina shot back, her voice sharp. "By that logic, Lewis isn’t exactly a saint either. And he’s downright awful. So, that means neither of us is any good, right? If that’s the case, Big Brother could’ve refused to take us in because our dad was no good. And Little Jane and the others could’ve refused to play with us for the same reason. Would that be fair?"
