When Vanessa and Leander walked out of the Brooks' house, she let out a long breath and stretched her arms, clearly in high spirits. "Hey babe, I'm actually dying to know-how on earth did you manage to get that whole box of jewelry into Dylan's room? That place is crawling with cameras and guards. Kinda wild that you pulled it off!" Leander flicked her on the forehead with a grin. "If we really did it your way, Caleb would've caught us red-handed before the box even made it past the gate. We'd be totally busted. You're sure you wanna know the trick?" Vanessa nodded like one of those bobblehead dolls, her curiosity practically glowing. Was he some kind of magician or what? Leander drove them back home. The moment they walked through the door, he snapped his fingers mid-air. Out of nowhere, a shadowy figure landed smoothly in front of them, like Batman swooping in from the dark. Vanessa froze, staring at the man dressed like a ninja. For a second, she was too stunned to say a word. Leand
