Chapter 177
As soon as the call ended, Lilah frowned slightly. "So, they don't celebrate the festival in Country C?"
Lydia actually showed up on Mid-Autumn Festival. That was unexpected.
"Maybe not," Gabriel replied casually, clearly uninterested.
Lilah picked up on his lack of enthusiasm and didn't push it.
She crouched down with a gentle smile and asked Aiden, "Sweetie, want some fish?"
"Fishies are so cute! Why would we eat them?" Aiden blinked at her, confused.
"Because that's how the world works—eat or be eaten, survival of the fittest," Gabriel tossed in from behind, voice cool as always.
Aiden's small brows furrowed tightly, and his eyes turned red almost instantly.
"Don't listen to him, he's just messing around," Lilah stood up, glaring at Gabriel while whispering, "Seriously? He's just a kid. You really think now's the time for all that survival theory talk?"
"Boys shouldn't cry over every little thing," Gabriel added, unfazed by the scolding.
Lilah shot him a glare sharp enough to kill.
