Heather Taylor stared at him, stunned, silent for a long moment.
"You... you really want to marry me?" His eyes held a flash of hope and excitement.
It was like a switch flipped in Heather’s brain—she quickly turned away. "I was just throwing out a scenario, that’s all. I never agreed to be your girlfriend, let alone... marry you."
