"Remember to breathe."
Gabriel finally said, watching Lilah struggling to even out her breathing. He sounded exasperated, but not unkind.
Lilah couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye.
"We're married. You'll have to get used to that."
He tossed the words casually over his shoulder before turning away and heading back to work.
She stayed put, sitting quietly beside little Aiden.
His words echoed in her ears, stirring something she hadn't felt in a long time.
He admitted it—they were husband and wife.
Did that mean... he wouldn't bring up divorce again?
