"You sure about this, Summer? You're really coming home with me on your own?" Alexander Barron's eyes were lit up with disbelief and excitement. Summer Knight nodded hard, not even hesitating. No one forced her—this was completely her own decision. In that pitch-black haunted house, for a second, she did panic. But when the lights came back on and she saw Alexander again, everything settled. That's when she knew, crystal clear, what her heart wanted. He was her protector, her one and only.
