Sabrina Evans stared blankly in the direction of the stables, her eyes carrying a quiet sadness.
She was standing there, but it felt like she didn't belong.
Cassian Bennett watched her for a bit, then suddenly turned around and made a phone call.
When he came back, he reached out and took her hand. "Come with me."
It was already pretty late, and Sabrina had no clue where he was taking her.
As he pulled her toward the parking area, she hurried to keep up. "Wait, where are we going? It's almost midnight-are you seriously taking me out now?"
Cassian didn't bother explaining. He just opened the car door, put her inside, and started the engine, driving straight out of the Bennett estate.
They cruised down a quiet, winding mountain road, streetlights flickering by in the dark. With the cool breeze and dark trees flashing past, Sabrina felt strangely disconnected, like she hadn't stepped out in ages.
She didn't ask where they were going. Anywhere was better than that cold, suffocating mansion
