Chapter 271
So yeah, that was how Edith first met Fiona Barnett.
Edith had cooked up a whole table of delicious food for them, but Fiona? She just focused on eating, barely said a word other than the occasional polite "This is really good." That was it—nothing more.
She didn’t bring up the note at all, and Noah Hyde was lowkey freaking out. Did she read it or not? Did she even care?
He waited and waited, kept stealing glances, hoping she’d say something. But… nothing. Not a damn thing.
After dinner, Fiona sweetly helped Edith clear the table, with Noah tagging along to lend a hand.
Living with Noah for so many years, of course Edith knew exactly what was going on in that boy’s head. So yeah, she went full-on wingwoman, tried to fish for info with a little side-eye and a smile: “Fifi’s so pretty, I bet you’ve got tons of boys after you, huh?”
Noah’s ears practically perked up like a dog hearing the word “walk.” He was all in, hanging on her every word.
Fiona didn’t seem to think much of it though.
