Edward's gaze toward Celeste grew a notch more intense. He didn't interact with her much on the regular, but in his mind, his eldest daughter-in-law had always been a timid little thing. But now? Whether it was her "coincidentally" chatting up Mrs. Soren or suddenly saying she wanted to work at Shaw Corporation-this version of her had nothing to do with being shy or scared. "The design department?" Edward cut straight to the point. "Why that department specifically?" Celeste froze for a split second. Crap. She hadn't come up with a good excuse for this one. Before she could come up with anything, Grace jumped in like a wrecking ball. "If she wants to work there, let her go!" she huffed. "You wouldn't buy me that car I liked, but you'll buy stuff for her? Does she even have a license? Will she actually drive it? And don't even get me started on the apartment. Did you pay for that too?" Edward sighed. He had always been soft on Grace, and now her nonstop whining was giving him a headache
