I looked at Jeremy mockingly. "What's wrong? You can't accept the thought of the tables turned? Yet, you did it and even expected me to take care of the pup and its mother."
Jeremy refuted anxiously, "Shirley, this is different. We didn't do it on purpose, and the pup is innocent. Why can't you forgive us?
"After all, Rebecca and I are fated mates. It's normal for us to have a pup. Just think of it as a matter of duty. However, the only one I love is you."
I stared at him, and my interest in continuing the conversation waned. In his heart, he always thought of himself first.
I snapped, "We're over! I don't have anything more to do with you. From now on, we're strangers. Don't come looking for me again."
Just as Jeremy was about to head forward, he was stopped by Rebecca, who had rushed over.
