Seeing his daughter's troubled appearance, Oliver and Violet exchanged puzzled, worried glances. Theodore and the others looked at Eleanor, their anxiety growing. They feared she had done something to anger Abigail.
"Grandpa..." Abigail's voice quivered as she bit her lip, tears brimming.
"My invitation was ruined by Eleanor!"
Old Master Hampton's face contorted with fury and heartache at her words. Oliver's family, initially stunned, turned their fierce gazes on Eleanor, their anger palpable.
Abigail's brother, Michael, could no longer contain his temper. He rushed at Eleanor, grabbing her collar without hesitation. Eleanor didn't flinch or resist.
