Chapter 174

Suddenly! With a flick of Eleanor's fingers, a thin blade flew abruptly from her hand, piercing mercilessly into the neck of the water creature with lightning speed. The beast let out a piercing roar that seemed to shake the ground. Its "hands" instinctively relaxed their grip. Taking advantage of this, Eleanor freed herself and landed on the ground. She had previously picked the blade casually by the water's edge. Unexpectedly, it was proving to be quite useful. However, the water beast suddenly plunged into a fury, its claws flailing as it slapped the water's surface hard. The emerald-green pond water was almost instantly whipped into a huge wave, soaking Eleanor through and through once again. The next second-- The water creature abruptly extended many "hands" again, one of which bound Eleanor's neck, another tightly wrapped around her torso, and yet another gripped her ankle! Eleanor was unable to move at all. She could only watch helplessly as she was drawn closer and closer to th
